SPORTS DAY 2024 - we had a fabulous day at the Scarlets Indoor Training Barn!

Ooh La La French Day - the whole school celebrated everything French on the 21st June, the language, food and culture. Magnifique!!

BOOK SLAM FINALS 2024 - Aberystwyth

STEBONHEATH has been awarded the UNICEF Rights Respecting BRONZE accreditation for the pupils' work on children's rights.

Our Middle Phase pupils were invited to Hafan Y Coed Care Home to welcome a group of cyclists who were riding 200 miles for charity. They had a fantastic time and were thoroughly spoilt

Pupils in the Middle and Upper Phases had an amazing experience learning how to Skateboard in May 2024. They loved every minute of it!!

Our Y6 Pupils too part in the Llanelli Junior Traders competition. They were given a sum of money from the Town Council and made products to sell to the public. They set up a Market Stall in the town centre and competed against other local schools. It was a fantastic 'Entrepreneurial' experience for them and we are very proud of their achievement.

Coedcae Cluster Concert at Theatre Ffwrnes - Our Children performed magnificently on stage in front of full houses.

HARRIET DUNN - Y3 - rode her bicycle from London to Newport during half term to raise money for the Stroke Association and in memory of her Grandfather. What a fantastic achievement! We are so proud of you, Harriet!

There were big celebrations across the school for King Charles 111's Coronation.

Y6 pupils were invited to meet the Llanelli Mayor in his Parlour in May. They had the opportunity to ask him questions about his role as Town Mayor.

Pupils from Y6 had a residential stay at the Llain Activity Centre, Aberaeron at the end of April. They took part in numerous adventurous activities, including climbing and abseiling, kayaking, archery, team games, and mud runs. They had a fabulous time!!

The school has been awarded the Eco Platinum flag for the 3rd time. It is a fantastic achievement for all our pupils. The picture shows the Eco Council being presented with the Platinum Flag by the assessor Bethan Evans-Phillips.

Congratulations to our Urdd Recorder Group who won the Llanelli round of the recent competition. They have progressed to the next round.

Y6 pupils had an exciting morning on BMX bikes with the Fusion Extreme Team.

Our pupils had a wonderful time on World Book Day in March . They wore their pyjamas to school and brought in their favourite bedtime story!

Our Y5 pupils visited Coedcae School to have Science and Geography lessons.

Our Upper Phase pupils (Y5&6) had workshops with Roger Dutton from Sustrans on safer routes to school for walking, cycling and scooting. They went into the locality to map out safe routes.

Our pupils have really enjoyed their weekly YOGA sessions with Emma this half term

PC Courtney visited the school recently to talk to all classes about important safety issues.

Our amazing Pupil of the Week Certificate winners - January 2023

The school's Eco Council organised an Eco Swap Shop in school. Families brought in unwanted clothes and they were able to swap them for items they could use, thus avoiding throwing them away! It was very successful and a great idea!

AGEN Partner School. Teachers at Simone Veil School in Agen, France have received gifts from Stebonheath. We are looking forward to meeting them online and hope we can visit them in the future.

Congratulations to our 2022-23 Bronze Young Sports Ambassadors for completing their training. They will put their expertise into practice to support physical activity across the school.

All pupils in Y3 are learning to play the FLUTE thanks to support from the Carmarthenshire Music Service.

Pupils from Y 4 have just completed a 3 week swimming course at the Llanelli Leisure Centre. Congratulations to our SWIMMERS of the WEEK!

PEACE TARTAN - Paolo Piana (Peace Tartan Ambassador) visited the school to talk about Peace Tartan and what it stands for...promoting world peace. The pupils are going to design their own Stebonheath Peace Tartan.

The school Football Team played in a 6 a-side local tournament at Ysgol Penrhos. They played 6 matches, winning 4 and losing 2. They were knocked out in the semi-finals. Congratulations to the whole team for an excellent tournament.

Scarlets, Wales and British Lions legend Derek Quinnell visited the school to talk to our pupils about his life as a rugby player and in particular about the day 50 years ago when the Scarlets beat the All Blacks.

Our BOOK SLAM Team represented Carmarthenshire at the recent National Finals in Aberystwyth, competing against schools from counties across the nation. We didn't place in the top 3 this year, but the Team did us proud with their performances.

The School Football Team was invited to play at the official opening of the Cruyff Foundation MUGA at Penyfan Park. They played against Bigyn school and won 7-6.

Congratulations to Amelia Munson Y4 for winning 1st Prize (out of 500 entries) in the Carmarthenshire Jubilee Portrait competition. She was presented with her prize - a copy of the new Michael Morpurgo book, 'There Once is a Queen,' by Gaynor Williams from Llanelli Library.


Y6 pupils had a fantastic 3 days at the Llain Activity Centre near Aberaeron. Look at all the amazing activities they did!

Congratulations to our Eco Council and ALL the pupils for helping the school to be awarded the PLATINUM ECO FLAG for the second time.

Y6 pupils had a morning of Drama and Dance at Coleg Sir Gar.

Year 6 Pupil donates money to Ukraine

Our Year 6 pupil Rory Tucker has been learning about what is happening in Ukraine and has decided to donate ALL of his birthday and Christmas money - £110!


Rory said "I was originally going to buy lots of Pokemon cards but when I realised what was going on I took my money to school so that they could donate it to Ukraine."


We are incredibly proud of Rory! 

Mrs Gandanhamo visited the Lower Phase to read stories and perform traditional dance from her native country, Zimbabwe. The children had a super time!
