Medicine
Medication should normally be administered outside of school hours. e.g. asthma maintenance drugs, anti-convulsants, antibiotics, and antirheumatic drugs. Parents are encouraged to request the child’s doctor to prescribe in this way. Medicines that are prescribed ‘3 times a day’ are not administered during school hours as this dosage can be administered before and after school. The school does not administer medicines that have not been prescribed e.g. Paracetamol, Calpol, Aspirin, Ibuprofen. If you wish the school to administer medication than a request form must be completed in the school office by the parent/guardian of the child concerned.
